Charity Fundraising
Welcome to our Fundraising page where you can see the work we have been doing over the year!
This year I wanted to raise £1,000 for Sunrise Children's Centre to get beautiful Usborne books.
I chose Sunrise because my main job is taking disabled Children to and from school. I also take some of the Children to Sunrise for respite.
The amazing thing about working for Usborne is that if could raise the money Usborne would give another £600 to the total!
Please read below the story of how with help fromsome amazing local businesses i manage to raise the funds!
Sunrise Children's Centre Book Fundraiser
I am part of an amazing Business Networking group called Spark. I have been a member since January 2025.
This group of small to large business use there knowledge and personal networks to promote and support each other.
I went to a small networking meeting in a pub in Sevenoaks and near the end I told the group that I wanted to raise some money for books to give to Sunrise. I came across very enthusiastic about my fund raising plan and Jess who runs Spark suggested that I set up a Go Fund Me page.
I had never set one up before, by the time I went to bed that night i had managed to set it up.
The next morning I was reading Sparks WhatsApp page and Jess was writing that there was going to be a charity raffle at the next networking meeting. i kept reading and found that she was talking about my book fundraiser!
I was shocked that my idea had been chosen! What shocked me more was the willingness of the members to donate prices that cost them a lot of money and time!
On the night the raffle made over £800 in ticket sales, one company kindly made up the short fall so now all I have to do is wait for Sunrise to give me their wish list so I can order the books and games form Usborne!
